Shelf cloud tornado12/29/2023 Minutes before the Salvage Master called for all compartments to be checked with a report of all tanks and spaces to be dry and fit. The Susan Rose was refloated at approx 0130 hrs and within minutes began to list heavily to port at which time all crew were immediately evacuated to safety. The salvage team continued to check all internal spaces for flooding and had (8) salvage dewatering pumps manned and ready and all accessible internal spaces were dry and watertight. At this point, F/V Susan Rose began to make slight forward progress. At approximately 2200hrs, tug Shannon Dann began pulling and little progress was made until 0100 early the next morning. Tides are historically stronger and higher at night, making the later tide the best time for refloating operations. However, the tide began to ebb, and refloating efforts needed to be put on hold until the next high tide around midnight. A few hours before high tide on 11/18 around 1200hrs, the tug Shannon Dann took a steady strain on the tow hawser and over the next few hours of the tide was able to bring the boat to a point due east. By the morning of 11/18 (8) dewatering pumps were in place and hatches were secured to make the deck watertight which was extremely challenging with surf breaking across the deck and the vessel on a 28-degree list thus making it very difficult, wet and cold for the salvage team working on board. The 2500hp Tug Shannon Dann was dispatched to assist with the refloating and arrived on 11/17 at 2300 hrs, the next morning the salvage crew utilized a line gun to shoot a messenger line to shore from a Towboat US vessel which was secured to a second, larger messenger line which was then used to bring a floating synthetic rope tow hawser to a Dyneema sling bridle with chafing gear to the bow. This phase was completed at 0730 on 11/18 with all fuel being removed, a total of 6500 gal. Fuel removal continued through the night. Northstar began mobilizing vacuum tanker trucks, pumps, storage tanks, salvage gear, and all manpower at 0800 on 11/17 and began fuel removal by 1400 hrs the same day. Pleasant Beach on the morning of 11/17 at 0500 hrs. Northstar was hired to provide salvage services, pollution containment, and fuel removal for the F/V Susan Rose, which was grounded on Pt. founded in 1990, has performed hundreds of salvage projects over the years. They are formed when water temperature in the cloud is below freezing level and sections of water start to freeze, which causes the surrounding water vapour to also freeze and descend.“Northstar Marine, Inc. Hole-punch clouds have a large circular gap between them and are also known as fallstreak clouds. There are also contrail clouds, which are basically narrow, line-shaped clouds that look like jet aircraft exhaust, appearing in cold air at high altitudes. Other types of clouds, as per the NWS, include Mammatus, clouds, which are visually described as having pouch-like protrusions from underneath larger clouds that don't produce severe weather. Scud clouds, also known as fractus clouds, are low, ragged stratiform cloud elements that are usually detached from larger thunderstorms or cloud bases. These clouds rotate on a vertical axis, while shelf clouds rotate on a horizontal axis. Unlike shelf clouds, some wall clouds exhibit strong upward motion and cyclonic rotation that produce tornadoes. Shelf clouds are often confused with wall clouds, which the NWS describes as "localised lowering from the rain-free base of a strong thunderstorm". They are attached to the parent cloud's base and though they appear quite ominous, these clouds do not usually produce tornadoes, as per the NWS. Shelf clouds are also known as Arcus clouds. What are shelf clouds?Īccording to the US National Weather Service, a shelf cloud is described as a low, horizontal and sometimes wedge-shaped cloud that is associated with the leading edge of a thunderstorm or potentially strong winds. The water level of river Ganga is already flowing above the danger level owing to the rain. It should be noted that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'red alert' in 11 districts of Uttarakhand for Tuesday and Wednesday, including Haridwar, warning of localised flooding and landslides.

Timeless razor handle size12/29/2023 The razor felt very mild, but gave me a very nice shave. Audio feedback was present but not as loud as I get from my Above The Tie R1. This being the first shave, I believe that I will be able to get it dialed in better after some practice. I found that the angle that I used for the Blackbird also worked pretty well with the Timeless. I used a custom Rudy Vey brush with a Shavemac 2 band silvertip knot, Micky Lee Soapworks "The Kraken" soap, and a brand new Gillette Silver Blue. Compared to the Blackbird the blade feel on the timeless was almost nonexistent. I have to say that to me it felt MUCH milder than my Blackbird. I bought the 95 mm blade gap model, which is billed as "MED. The threads on the cap are very smooth, the handle screwed on like butter. The finish on the cap is mirror like, I can't find a single flaw anywhere at all. I bought the solid bar smooth cap version with the 12 mm x 85 mm knurled handle. My Timeless Razor arrived today, I took it on its maiden voyage tonight.įirst I should say that this is a beautiful razor. I also use Caties bubbles today, first time I used it since I bought CRSW, really miss that post shave from CRSW, face feels sticky not the soft smoothness I get from CRSW. Really liking how efficient this razor is, but still being comfortable. I think the Gillette yellows might work better with this razor. Really love this razor, Polsilver worked great for the first 2 shaves but seemed to maybe take too much skin off, didn't hurt or irritate during the shave or just after shave, but a bit after the shave the neck would get red. Today skin looked fine put in a Gillette yellow seemed just as efficient as the Polsilver but more comfort, no redness on neck, seemed a bit more gentle on the skin than the Polsilver, the yellows on the 34c felt good on the skin but wasn't very efficient, on the Timeless it's still as efficient as the Polsilver(maybe a tad less but close) but easier on the skin. He went home and ordered a Timeless.īeen using Polsilver since I got the Timeless(Wednesday) but notice after Friday shave my skin was getting a little irritated and yesterday even more so, neck for the first time was red along the adams ample, but when I was shaving it was feeling good and smooth, weird. He loved them all, and said he was now convinced that a good razor is worth the investment. A friend came over last evening and wanted to try some of my "ridiculously expensive" (his words) razors, and I set him up with the ATT M2, ATT H1, and the Timeless. This isn't the case with the Timeless razor- those rinse outs do their job. I take my razor apart daily after shaving, rinse and dry everything, and always have to remove buildup from the blade. Maybe this isn't a unique feature, but it's the first razor I've owned with them, and they certainly work. The first thing I noticed about this razor were the the large rinse outs. I purchase things for their usefulness and longevity, not for their looks, but I couldn't have been more impressed with the fit and finish of this razor. 68mm bar, and this has proven to be the perfect gap size for my stubble. Money well spent! I've been using it everyday for about three weeks, and getting the best shaves of my life! I bought the scalloped. I first learned about Timeless Razors on a B&B thread about a month ago, and since they offer a 30 day money back guarantee, I thought I have nothing to lose. But compared to current razors at these prices, I think they certainly are in the same class. I know the price will turn a lot of people away, it is expensive. I find it to be smooth and forgiving, I am getting great shaves from it. Personally I get a satisfying blade feel, it's not too aggressive but certainly not mild. As far as shaving goes I would put it up against any of my razors. I think the craftsmanship on the timeless is superb, although the underside of the top cap wasn't polished. The craftsmanship on the wolfman is first class. I was lucky enough to get a wolfman, and I know there are a lot of guys who have been waiting a while to try and buy one. I can get great shaves with a lot of razors, but if someone is looking for a high end razor I would recommend checking them out. I find it to be a very smooth efficient razor. It is expensive but I paid the same price for my att slant.

Rn degrees rm translation geometry12/29/2023 Rules to figure out if some actual transformations Transformation then this should be equal to c times so let me just multiply vector a times some scalar The transformation of any scaled up version of a vector That's my first conditionįor this to be a linear transformation. If I add them up first, that'sĮquivalent to taking the transformation of each of the Transformation if and only if I take the transformation of Transformation if and only if the following thing is true. The following two things have to be true. I'm being a little bit particular about that, although Rn to rm - It might be obvious in the next video why And a linear transformation,īy definition, is a transformation- which we We already had linearĬombinations so we might as well have a linear Something called a linear transformation because we're Transformation called a linear transformation. Transformation is, so let's introduce a special kind of I hope that shows that the proof is quite simple, so it is certainly not impossible, even quite easy, to state that all examples will work, as there is a simple proof covering every possible linear combination without loss of generality, by making a few simple but key (and easily forgotten) lemmas and assumptions. Constants are out of the question, therefore I should not have spoken about "linear combinations of vectors >and constants<<". I made a small mistake by first not seeing that linear combination ONLY involves vectors. To make the "if T consists of linear combinations of vectors and constants" an "iff ~", all we need to do now is to prove that for any non-linear combination of vectors, but not constants (c1*c2 is still C and thus does not give a different result about whether T is L.T., whatever that result may be). cn, prove that any transformation including only linear combinations is a transformation that is L.T. for any vector a and for any series of constants c1, c2. This means that we can, by proving that T(vector a) = is L.T. Similarly, any combination of constants results in one bigger constant. Simply put (just to explain the concepts of what would need to be included in the proof), we know that any combination of vectors can be expressed as another vector. Unfortunately LaTeX does not work in these comment boxes, as otherwise I could have shown you my proof that any transformation consisting of linear combinations is also a linear transformation. Curious, something inherent in either transforming or adding either squares or exponents is causing a loss of information. I guess that something would be lost in transformation, not addition, so if information is lost in transformation then it would still be lost when they are then added together thus giving a different. Thanks,ĮDIT: With a little inductive reasoning, it appears that if a translation is NOT linear, something is being lost or gained either when either the vectors are added together and then transformed, or something is lost or gained when they are transformed then added together. I hope I'm clear on the type of answer I'm looking for. I understand that it meets those three criterion, but say, in a very abstract sense (and hopefully in laymen's terms), what does it mean? Perhaps it implies continuity? Perhaps it means the transformation won't enter the domain of complex numbers?Īlso, can you name a condition or two where 'linearity', that is, the criterion will consistently broken? DS (font: TiRo 10.Simple question, (apologies if answered, I'm about 1/2 way through), but, what exactly does "Linear" mean.

Odyssey house manhattan12/28/2023 Timmy Regisford is simply put, one of the great legends of dance music. In the years that followed, he held shorter-lived residencies at various clubs in New York, including Discothèque, Sound Factory (so-named by Richard Grant who retained legal rights to the name and opened in a new space located in the Hells Kitchen section of Manhattan shortly after the closure of the original site), Pacha (which opened in the site where the new Sound Factory once stood), Spirit (which opened at the former space where Twilo once operated), and The Roxy. Vasquez's gig at Earth ended without fanfare in 2002. With the demise of Twilo, Vasquez began a new Sunday morning after-hours residency which he named "Earth" at the highest capacity club space in New York City, Exit Nightclub. Problems with the venue saw the event split between the two largest clubs in the country, Ministry of Sound and Cream. In 1997 Ian Jenkinson and Inner Rhythm Artists Tribal Gathering enlisted Vasquez for the Largest single artist DJ event in UK history at the London Arena. Remodeled to include a custom-designed DJ booth for Vasquez's exclusive use and fitted with new cutting-edge audio technology known as "Phazon", Vasquez's resid ency at Twilo lasted until May 2001 when the venue was abruptly shut down by order of the city. In 1997, he returned to the former site of the original Sound Factory, now called "Twilo". The track became a house music phenomenon, and was followed up soon thereafter with the equally as influential and successful "Get Your Hands Off My Man." More than any other two tracks, "X" and "Get Your Hands Off My Man" brought Junior's "factory sound" to even greater prominence in the house music scene.Īfter the Sound Factory was closed in February 1995, Vasquez held residencies at the Tunnel (1995–1996), and at ArenA (held at the Palladium) (1996–1997) where his suspended booth was custom-designed by designers Dolce & Gabbana. In the early 1990s, Vasquez released his single "X," which sampled Danny Xtravaganza saying the word "extravaganza!" (the voice sample was taken from Danny Xtravaganza's 1990 single on NuGroove records, "Love The Life You Live"). Junior Vasquez was also closely associated at this time with The House of Xtravaganza, a gay ballroom "house" which enjoyed great prominence in New York City at this time. Working with many popular artists allowed Vasquez to create his own repertoire of exclusive "Private Collection" of authorized remixes (along with several unofficial remixes) which were not released to the market and thus made his live sets even more distinctive to his following due to the fact that they could only be heard at Vasquez's Sound Factory events. Due to a rise in demand from these labels, many singers and musicians such as C+C Music Factory, David Morales, Björk, Marilyn Manson, and Madonna were known to frequent his Sunday morning events. Soon afterward, major record labels began soliciting Vasquez to produce club-friendly remixes for their top singers utilizing his personal beat-driven house style. Devoted to Vasquez's musical style, personality, and the spectacle of his weekly Sunday morning after-hours parties, his fans made Vasquez one of New York City's most popular DJs. Vasquez quickly built a following of loyal fans who became known as "Juniorites". Many of Junior Vasquez's earliest underground hits were released under the name "Ellis D," including the seminal gay house track, "Work This Pussy." Vasquez also released the tracks "Just Like a Queen," "My Lolleata," "It's Scratched," and "Took my Love Away" under the name "Ellis D." The style of the tracks release under the pseudonym "Ellis D" are largely credited today with having influenced the sound of house music generally, and particularly the sound of most all subsequent "gay" house singles.įrom 1989 to 1995, Vasquez gained national prominence, along with music industry influence - through his residency at the original Sound Factory, a club he co-founded with Richard Grant, which was located at 530 West 27th Street in Manhattan's Chelsea district.

Butterfly sticky note origami12/28/2023 This simple origami frog can then be made to hop by sliding your finger off the back. While there are more intricate frog designs, the basic process involves creating a water bomb base, folding edges, shaping legs and tails, and forming a Z shape for springiness. The top portion of the water bomb serves as the frog's nose. If using origami paper, simply push down and slowly slide your finger off the back to initiate a hopping motion. Using an index card can add springiness to the paper, enhancing the jumping effect. Open the model, flatten it out, and angle the corners, shaping the bottom legs first, followed by the top legs.įold the model in thirds, creating a Z shape when viewed from the side. To form the legs, it becomes a bit intricate. Now, fold the very bottom of the bottom quarter of the paper. Afterward, fold the base to resemble a house shape. Once you have the water bomb base, fold the outer side edges underneath, creating the first flap. Now, take the top half of the folded rectangle and form a water bomb base by going from corner to corner and folding the top edge into the center line, effectively folding the top quarter of the paper. Next, fold the other edge in half as well, going edge to edge, and leave it folded to maintain the one-to-two ratio. Start by folding the paper in half to create a one-to-two ratio. Crafting a jumping frog involves using a square piece of paper, similar to the process of making a water bomb. I have shared I have been on an origami kick since I subbed at Hazel's school for the geometry teacher. Disclosure: I was sent a box of this origami paper in exchange for an honest review.
